What is Western Dressage?

 The latest in the western world... Western Dressage. This month's HorseandRider magazine has an article with Al Dunning and Lynn Palm on 'Western Dressage'.
 
What is it? 

Is it Western style dressage?  
Do riders ride (english) dressage on a western horse in western tack? 
Is it foundation work like my Body Control Foundation training? 
Is it basic reining?

Sidepassing
Al Dunning and Lynn Palm seam to describe it as classical dressage for the western horse.

I believe it's foundation work developed by the vaqueros to have incredibly trained western horses to work cows. A bridle horse in otherwords.  That's my body control foundation training and what I also call western performance horse development.

Time will tell to see what it turns out to be.
