It wasn't always that way.... Notice the dust flying as she is trying to figure out what her new tail extension is supposed to do for her. This is quite scary for most horses so it wasn't my first despooking tool for this horse. She was used to me despooking her.
Here our smart, calm horse is starting to relax and figure out that the plastic tied to her tail is not going to hurt her.
As you can see, this horse did a great job with yet another de-spooking tool I call a tail extension. Guy McLean uses this desensitizing technique as well.
